OUR PROGRAMMES ARE
 
CRECHE:
October 2002 onwards we have started Creche programme for children below 5 years with the help of State Government of Maharashtra. The need and aim to start this project is, the parents are busy in earnings their daily livelihood and small children are left on footpath. Elder child has to look after younger one but elder child is also either one or two year older than siblings. So we have started Creche Programme for deserving and needy children.
The children of the Pavement dwellers are attending crèche. We provide them Breakfast, lunch, bathing facilities (Soap, Water) medical facility etc.; we celebrate national days and festivals in the center to make them aware about the value of days, we do provide educational requirements to school going children. At present we have 102 children in the project. The staff under this project is two trained crèche nurses, one urdu teacher and One Cook-cum-Aya. The project is open from Monday to Saturday 10.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.
DANCING FEAT
This project is executed in association with (C.C.D.T.) and SDIPA.
Committed Communities Development Trust, a government nonprofit Organization, herein referred to as C.C.D.T. expressed its willingness to be a partner with Shiamak Davar's Institute for the Performing Arts a well-known dance academy, herein referred to as SDIPA in executing the Dancing Feat Programme in the city of Mumbai founded by Family Health International with the common aim. To enhance the ability of high risk vulnerable children of Mumbai city to response effectively to situations that place them at risk to HIV-AIDS by using the innovation art from of dance, combined with counselling and Life Skills Education using friendly approaches to the child.
 
The project is run for Pavement Dwellers children who attend our street children's project. At present we have 40 children. Their age group is 6 yrs to 16 yrs. Children are divided into two groups.
The Dancing feet project will achieve its goal to build the capacity of selected N.G.O. and Dancing feet staff through the following strategies:-
1. Vulnerability growth and development issues of children.
2. Address vulnerabilities of children through counselling and life skill education based on a tailor made      strategy under the project.
3. Utilize the medium of dance to enhance receptivity of children towards counselling and life skills education,       facilitate expression and to channel energies positively.
4. Document and disseminate the experience and lessons learnt from the intervention
 
 
CHILD GUIDANCE CLINIC:  
A child guidance clinic department is working actively in the field of mental health exclusively for children. Services of C.G.C. have been clinic based limited to provide therapy for children who are brought with emotional and behavioral Problem. Hence C.G.C. plan implement various programmes in schools. Its Activities are.
 
1. School counselling .
2. I. Q. Testing.
3. Vocational guidance.
4. Play therapy.
5. Family life education.
6. Parental guidance & counselling.
7. Psychological evaluation.
8. Teacher's sensivity programme


The problems observe in the schools in this respect are :
a. Not interest in studies.
b. Fear of examination or teachers or classmates.
c. Anxiety in subject.
d. Day Dreaming.
e. Loneliness and ignorance.
f.   Hyperactive.
g. Temper Tantrums.
h. Sucidal tendency.
i. Sex abuse.
j. Truancy from school/home etc.

The aim of the project is measuring the basic abilities required for schooling such as intellectual development motor coordination, communication skill, socialization etc.
Our psychologist arranged aptitude test at Chinchani for 50 students. Psychiatrist comes once in a week and do the needful according to the individuals patients.

Many near by N.G.O.s for example Prerna, Snehasadan, Holy Cross, Anjuman Islam, Saifee High School., and Asha Dan are taking advantages of C.G.C. department to help individuals. This department do conduct mental health awareness programme for the parents, teachers and community at large.
